I can't believe how busy our lives get! It is all good things, but put them all together and they sorta weigh you down.
Megan has all this going on:
Selected to be First Chair in District Concert Honor Band (Not the symphonic that she wanted) :(
Practices run after school Thurs., all day Friday, Sat. morning with a performance in the early afternoon.
Louisiana Tech (college) has asked her to perform with them since they don't have a bassoonist and she's the only one around with any talent. These practices are every Mon., Tue. &; Thur. But she can only go on Mon. since she has RHS concert band practice (french horn) on Tues. and RHS symphonic band practice (bassoon) on Thur.
The LA Tech performance is Feb. 9th.
She is also in the Basketball band (Tues. and Fri. nights).
Somewhere in here she has auditioned to be in a Southern Association Band that is for the northern part of Louisiana. (A spot is pending)
She is in honors, dual enrollment (college) math and English IV AP classes, (I don't know how she is getting her homework done).
Oh and by the way she is the Laurel class president. (Sigh! Did I get it all?)
Rachel is a little less taxed but is still busy too:
She is in the concert band playing many different percusion instruments.
She is going to be in the Brazillian percusion group that starts up next week (I think).
She is in the Art Club and loves it!
She has been asked by one of her friends to help illustrate a book with him and a group of others and she is very activly persuing that.
She also wrote a play for New Beginnings this year. It was a match up of all the Disney Characters and Princesses to the YW Values. Once the YW presidency decided that with a little tweeking that they would use it. Rachel is now doing a re-write to match the characters with heros from the Scriptures and Church History. This will turn into one of her value projects. She is really on track for getting her Young Womanhood award.
Rachel is also the music coordinator for YW.
With all this and a play (that had to be posponed till Feb.) I am needless to say SWAMPED!
Luckly grades were due yesterday and that is off my plate now.
Next up Megan's 18th birthday party!
Jay is amazing and handling the role of Bishop with great flare. There is no other way to describe him. His persionality is just what this ward needed at this time!
Blogging is great therapy (if it only had spellcheck)

Snow in Louisiana
Today we had snow (small non-sticking orbs of white). It wasn't anything significant but it did stick to our school benches for about an hour. It wasn't fluffy or wet at all. We are at a whopping 27 degrees and falling. Our high for Thursday is supposed to be about 24 and a low hovering around 14 that night with snow (the real kind I think) in the forcast. Can you say SNOW DAY FRIDAY! That's what I heard straight from our principal's mouth.
By the way our sister presents rock!!!! Melinda and her fam sent us "Ticket to Ride," a board game with little trains to build routes all over America. Jay had never played it and he is the one that calls us together to play now. He is totally hooked! Thanks Moe!
Happy Birthday WENDY! Happy You. . . Happy You. . .
I'll call you later.
